Background: Being an independent artist means you have creative freedom to do things on your own timing, but it also demands a DIY approach. Being an artist while also working in advertising gives me a unique advantage - using my ad brain to create fully integrated campaigns to promote my music.
My latest EP, BRB, is all about creating and maintaining interpersonal connections within the digital age.
Execution:
Visual Storytelling: -Directed my cover shoot -Edited a teaser video using BTS footage -Filmed and edited in-world social videos aligning with specific songs on the project.
Experiential: -Hosted a release party at the legendary Classick Studios in Chicago.
Interactive Engagement: -Launched an active BRB Hotline that allows people to text me for love advice.
Guerilla Marketing: -Wheat pasted posters around LA.
Entertaining Insight: -Filmed a Sounds & Rounds episode; my series that involves crafting a cocktail inspired by a song while interviewing the artist.
Merchandise: -Created iPhone cases as merch with “BRB” printed in reverse to be readable in mirror selfies! Designed by Jonné Pratt
